Help Need Advise!!!

Hi All,

I am totally new to this forum. I have just completed my degree in IT. Now i am looking for a job but the problem is I have overview knowledge of IT area like web development (HTML, PHP, MYSQL), project management, database (mysql, oracle) and testing(theoretical only)

Now, i want a job in testing but i found all testing related job need atleast 2-3 yrs of experience. so wht can i do? and if i want to start testing what is the best way to start testing form basic? is testing is full of programming? can plz anyone let me know the best step to start testing which will helpful to prepare myself to apply for testing job?? i dont know much about testing except some theories.

plz advise me i am eagerly waiting for the response

Hi Sweetu1,

Firstly, you are absolutely right about the jobs in subject of experience. However, all people must start from a point even though he/she doesn't have any experience. Actually I am a software engineering student so I don't have a wide information about this subject. But I can advice you one thing:

There are some speacial browsers for searcing job advertisements. For example, I am from Turkey and there is a browser for job searcing named careerjet. You may use this browser or another browser like this. And after searching if all employer's are looking for experienced people, you should look the profile which they are looking for. When I say profile I mean that characteristic of people like programming languages, certificates etc. which employers are looking for. I think looking these subjects will be usefull for you to understand which characteristics are searched by employers and to understand where you should start.

Hi,

If you want to choose testing career you must know basic of testing you can learn from any testing institute.

White box testing needs coding knowledge and Black box testing doesn't need any coding knowledge .

It will be better for career in testing if you complete any testing certification like ISTQB
