Hi all,


recently i have been looking up for most used / popular tools for test automation. Widely used tools seems to be quick test pro(QTP), rational functional tester(RFT), test complete and tosca testsuite. Just for interest, is there any statistics of user amount available? QTP seems to be most used?

Hi All,

There are many Automation Testing tools used in the Industry. QTP(Quick Test Professional) ,Load Runner,WinRunner,Silk Test,Selenium are few of them.
But QTP is the most used and effective tool among the all. It used to be MERCURY Internactive's product upto 2006.After that Hewlett Packard (HP) acquired this product and now it is known as "HP QuickTest Professional". It is mostly used for functional and regression test automation software applications and environments and the current version is QTP 11.0 . It is more costly in comparison to other tools like LoadRunner and WinRunner.
