As many are requesting for API related docs why not the reference of documents be placed here in this discussion which can used by all members.

In Open Interface , you populate interface tables and run a Oracle program which validates
and uploads them into std. oracle tables.
Whereas in API's you pass a complete set of record. The APIs validates the record and
directly inserts into std tables.
This is relatively faster way to insert records in Oracle Apps.
Also, you will know of all the errors immediately.
