A compliment to this newsgroup
Forgive me if my post irritates anyone who posts to this newsgroup.
I am the creator of an IRC channel on the server irc.freenode.net that
exists for live discussion of implementing and solving problems
using design patterns. Of course that is also the purpose of this
newsgroup. However, I believe that this channel is a very good
compliment to this newsgroup heading more towards an exhaustive
resource on design patterns. If anyone would like to join the
channel which is #design-patterns, the few of us that currently use
the channel would be greatly appreciative.
Thanks,
Jim

I can see the value of real-time discussion.
However, if the IRC discussions turn into something
you feel might be beneficial in non-real time as well,
don't hesitate to post "Best of IRC" occasionally
here as well. "Best" might simply mean a question
without a clear answer, etc.
Thanks

You're right, I'll keep that in mind as we discuss topics in the IRC
channel. Thanks for the reply!
