very urgent please

I am using VB6 and ADO with SQL Server 2000 and crystal reports 8. When i run it, it displays the the error
[DBNETLIB][ConnectionOpen(Connect()).]SQL Server does not
exist or access denied.
Why does this error occur?

re install sql 2005
