Renaming Business Group

Hello,

My clients company name has changed and we need to reflect the same in Oracel Apps 11.5.10. Has anyone done this before? Are there any known inssues if we rename a Business Group? Will Oracel support this? Is there a standard procedure for doing this?

Hi sunder,

Symptoms
When creating an employee, the "Create Employment" option is not in the LOV for the activity type.

Cause
The seeded business group "Setup Business Group" was renamed. When setting up the instance, the "Setup Business Group" was renamed to XYZ Business Group and linked it to the security profile "Set Up Business Group". Once that happens, then the "Create Employment" action type would no longer show up in the LOV when creating an employee. It would treat it like having to create an applicant before being able to make the person an employee. When creating a new business group and security profile and assigned this at the site level, the "Create Employee" displayed in the LOV.
Fix
It is best not to rename the "Setup Business Group" as this is seeded data.
