hi there,
could anyone please tell me what is enter and exit criteria.... and also wat exactly is tested in user acceptance testing..... i mean to say functional or performance parameters??????

well nobody wants to answer my question.... fine... let me anwer it my self...
Before entering in to any testing phase one should be having the prerequisites of that test. i,e before entering in to system testing phase, unit and integration tests should be completed.negligible defects/ bugs r affordable. This is entry criteria.
once the bugs go below the threshold n there r no new bug findings then the application is fit to be released... it means that the application has reached the maturity stage.....this is known as exit criteria.
UAT focuses on the functionality and usability of the application. Actually its a black box kind of a testing.

In software development, UAT is one of the final stages of a project and will often occur before a client or customer accepts a new system.UAT is basically a final verification of the required business function and proper functioning of the system, emulating real-world usage.The results of these tests will give confidence to the customers of how the system will perform in production.
