Best way to take Backup

I have large volumes of data stored in my system. I am using 2 to three systems in my home. What is the best way or media to take backup of these data.

there are lot of software availavle for backup data... but I use DVD burner to backup my data once in a while..

I recommend backing up to an external hard drive if you think you can develop the backup habit, and to the Internet if you want to set up an automated system and forget about it. Although you can set up automated backups with external drives.On the other hand, automated online backups make a perfect fit.

I like to use removable backup drives as well as usb drives as backups. I also like to store software and files online.
