When we know a defect existance before release, we call it a Known Defect and menrion it in the release notes taht we are going to address this defect in the next release.
Regarding Risk analysis, we try to identify the following points:
1) the reuirements of high importance to the customer
2) the requiremnets that effect the customer financially,
3) the most commonly used functionality
4) the time schedules and the personnel available
5) prioritise the various functionality in the AUT and address the higher priority once.
This is all we do in risk analysis, as per my understanding,.
People let me know if there is any better answer for this.

Evaluating Risk analysis has lot of attributes involved in it. One of the attributes which it takes for assessment is financial or cost determination. This is calculated by figuring the frequency of missing of an occurrence of an action planned and the loss incurred because of this. Multiplying these two factors would give the assessment of loss in cost and there by helps the organization to take care of the risk involved.

Risk analysis assessment requires users to have greater in depth knowledge on business and the model in addition to the software used for implementing the business application. This is because the errors or bugs, security issues, holes in the model are the major factors for assessment of risk analysis which can be done with greater precision only when the user posses in depth knowledge on the domain mentioned.
