I want to install Linux in my laptop. Can someone suggest a best Linux for laptop installation? Kindly also help me to know the resource from where I could download the same. This would help me to finish the process easily.

You can make use of EmperorLinux which is a type of Linux purposefully made for laptop usage users. I am not aware of free download available version of this type of Linux. I will also wait for someone to post on this.

irecommned to use centos 4 or 5 it is redhat kernel

i'm using sun solaris on my laptop its working fine you can try it its easy to use and install. its free and you can download it from Sun Microsystems

Rather install VMWare and choose your linux(via corresponding image!) after checking for yourself.
U can even get the look & feel of MacOS...!!

I think its a choice on preference. Download some live CDs and try before you install.

Fedora Core 2 and Ubuntu along with Mandriva seem to be the best options available.
