Gradaution dilemma

Hi,

First of all I must congratulate u guys on the gr8 job..this site is really gr8 even for guys like me who r not in the IT field.

I am presenlty pursuing my masters in Manufacturing engineering. My dilemma is that I still have 4 subjects left to complete my degree.But I can\'t decide on my grduation date. I have 2 options in front of me.One is that I can take 4 subjetcs in the fall 2004 semester and finish everything by December 2004.Then my OPT will start from Jan 1 2005.

In the other scenario I can take 3 subjects in the fall 2004 sem and the remaining one subject in the spring 2005 semester.This way I will graduate in May 2005.

So i just need some advice from your side for my graduation date.What do u think which approach should I take?

also let me tell u that my sister stays in US so living is not a problem after my graduation. One part of me says that I should finish my studies ASAP and look out for job in the market.Also my area of concentration is SAP/ERP.

I would suggest to graduate asap and get into job search. I believe next year quarter begins in January so the market will be very good in December and January.

->Complete your graduation by Dec 2004.
Why not May 2005?
If you complete ur graduation by May 2005, ur OPT starts from June 2005 and expires on June 2006. You need to file ur H1 with start date Oct 1st 2005. If this is the case, you will not make use of your OPT period. For taking training, getting job -- almost reaches towards end of year which is risk.

->Apply your OPT start date as Jan 1st 2005.

->Select a good consulting company and get trained in ERP(Oracle applications or People soft is best) , Dont go for SAP.
Thru our site, some students got trained in ERP and got placed also.
We can help you in finding a good company, if you want.

->The training will be around 4-6 weeks.

->By mid of Feb 2005, training will complete.

->By March ending 2005, you will be on project.

->Apply for H1 in the next year.

Dont worry. You will complete graduation by this year ending and get the job by the end of first quarter of next year.
