Re:Suggest me the Technology
Swapna,
Before deciding the technology, you need to sort out the following points: 1)Are you comfortable in programming language/non-programming? 2)Can you relocate to any location? Or you are looking in specific location? Based on your answers i will try to focus more... |

Re:Suggest me the Technology
Swapna,
In your scenario, it is better to opt for PeopleSoft. Reason: Java , .Net - more programming work. Oracle applications and Peoplesoft are fine. In both of these, PS is good for you. Before start learning PS, you need to know Oracle basics. Hope this helps |

Re:Suggest me the Technology
Hi Swapna,
In your first message, you said that you already applied for H1. Generally the consultancy companies will train people who are thier H1. I would like to whether your H1 is approved or still in process and also are you ready to transfer your H1 ? |

Re:Suggest me the Technology
Hi Vasu,
My H1 is in processing. I had applied for normal processing. I may received in the month of December or Jan. I am ready to pay the cost of training since I am not having H1 yet. About transfer of H1 since I am not having it yet so transfer will not be a mater as of now. If any consultant is ready to apply one more then it will be well and good I can go with that. Because currently I payed for my H1 processing. Regards, Swapna |

Re:Suggest me the Technology
Swapna,
The best way to proceed is: 1)Wait till ur H1 comes, ie. till Dec 04. 2)Then you will select good consultancy which can train in PeopleSoft or Oracle applications. - Dec 04. 3)That consultancy company can transfer your H1 to his company. 4)By Jan ending you will get training. 5)By Feb 05 ending you will get placed. Till Dec 04, you can start learning oracle basics. We have so many training materials in our website. You can go thru them, If you are facing any problem while learning you can post the questions here. |

Re:Suggest me the Technology
Hi Ms.Swapna:
Welcome to Exforsys.com! You are in good hands! When I read your entry that you were \"B.Tech in Mechanical Engg.\" and ended your post with \"I am Zero In Computers!\", I appreciate your desire to start off your career all over again! During one of my earlier projects, I stayed with a Mechanical Engineer who forayed into Network Engineering. He is now a Network Engineer with Cisco/Microsoft and plenty of other certifications. When I moved in, he wanted to borrow my Oracel 8i book because he wanted to study for an Oracle Certification. At that point, I was inspired by the human mind to overcome all obstacles and achieve its goals! Good luck for your future! Remember, Exforsys can only guide you! Your desire and enthusiasm to achieve your goals will help you further your interests. There are plenty of resources available and wonderful people to help you here at Exforsys! Make the best use of it! I don\'t know whether you are looking for high-paying jobs or simply want to get into the IT industry without too much stress or work! In addition to Vasu garu\'s comments on a right technology, you might want to explore, Quality Assurance and Testing jobs! They are not high paying jobs, but don\'t require too many hours to learn like Programming! White box testing is simply testing to see if the application meets all business requirements. In addition to that, QA Testing industry may or may not prosper! But it is a good start for you to enter into IT field. Since you have a H4, I am assuming that you are married! In addition to vasu garu\'s comments on H1 visa, you should contact a qualified Immigration Lawyer or check out http://www.immigration.com run by Mr.Khanna (a prominent indian lawyer). Immigration related laws are blurred by pending amendments and new rules & regulations. If I were you, I would verify any information you receive from anyone who is not qualified to interpret the laws of this land! Once again! Good to see you on the discussion boards! If you learn anything, feel free to post it on this board for the benefit of others! All the best! PS: As a mechanical engineer, if you can learn CAD/CAM designing, it is very valuable now in the Industry! |
