Description : Job Description: Developer Consulting Specialist


As a member of the Developer Technical Services (DevTech) group, part of Autodesk Consulting, the Developer Consulting Specialist will have two primary responsibilities:
(1) providing support to developers of third-party applications based on Autodesk products who are part of the Autodesk Developer Network (ADN) program; and

2) participating in the delivery of consulting solutions being developed for customers throughout the world using Autodesk’s Collaborative Development Centre facility in Bangalore, India.

The Developer Consulting Specialist will be expected to bring domain knowledge to and specialize in one or more of Autodesk’s vertical product areas, i.e., Building, Manufacturing, or Infrastructure Solutions.


The Developer Consulting Specialist will interact with other DevTech team members in all other worldwide locations, other consulting project team members, and directly with ADN member customers via phone and e-mail. Some interaction with Autodesk’s product R&D function may also be required for evaluating new product releases and reporting bugs. This position may also participate in technical marketing events to evangelize Autodesk products and educate the ADN membership on new product features.


Requirements for this position include the following:
• Programming fluency in C/C++ using MFC and Visual Studio development tools in a Windows environment.
• Knowledge of object-oriented programming concepts
• Education in Architecture, CAD/CAM, Mechanical/Civil Engineering, GIS, or other related field
• Background in mathematics and/or scientific computing methods
• Good written and oral communications skills, including presentation skills
• Good analytical and problem-solving ability
• Ability to thrive in a team environment under pressures of schedule deadlines
• Customer service orientation
