vb.net connecting to server

Hello every body

Pleeeeeeeeeeeeease I want to know how to connect to a server in vb.net

I have to do client server project and I dont know which database I can use as a server and how to do the connection.

Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease help me as sooooooooooon as possible.
