Which To Choose Mapping Or Database

recently i joined in one organization.They are having excellent mapping factory.Its an US based company operating in India.If was i asked to choose between mapping and database side which can i opt for Navy.I have to tell my choice in one or two days so can any one please help me out.Waiting for your valuable suggestions Thank fully MallaKishore

Reply to what mapping means
mapping is to map the EDI data into application data and vice-versa.There are lot many tools in the market.For ex:Mercator,websphere from IBM etc.
