I'm still part time and I do it just for side money. God only know if I could do it full time and pay all of my bills lol. I don't think I will ever go full time only because their is no 'fixed' type pay. It will vary from month to month!

You are right that pay varies from month to month but you have fulll freedom in freelancing . You are your own boss and you can earn more if you really work hard.

I too am only a part time Freelancer. I find it hard over here, Australia to get full time freelance work that pays well. But on the other hand my cousin who lives in Queensland, Australia has been making a full time living out of freelance writing for two years now. Depends on what you want to do. And it has it's up's and downs.

My friend, I am working at present as a full time "freelancer". For starters, its not easy (I never said it would be) but it most certainly is a good challenge. I would recommend you join up with another freelancer who is able to pick up good projects, and stick with them.

I am in the process of setting up a proprietorship (CBD Arts) in Mumbai, since I have tons of jobs that I can practically give away

Of course, I need commitment. So I usually dont give jobs to people who just ask. I work with software, hardware, web services, web design, hosting, domains, seo, link building, ... so many things I usually miss out while trying to make a list

Its hard during the first few months, but once you get good trusting clients and enough experience, you can ask for your pay.

I hope someday that I am good enough to accomplish something like this! I hope to actually being a fulltime free lancer by the time I turn 29 or so!

I agree that freelancing is a very hard thing to do at first. Although, I am not a freelance programmer or web designer but I'm a freelance bookkeeper and it really is hard specially finding clients who will trust you with their accounts. But as time goes by, while you prove yourself little by little, you won't have to find client cause they will find you. You'll just have to make it slowly but surely and remember to satisfy your clients.

With freelancing jobs, you must equip yourself with so good skills as with applying to a company. The internet offers great opportunity for those who have skills and talents especially on the IT field. There are so many companies that uses the internet to get their projects done with the help of freelance programmers.

About being a fulltime freelancer, I haven't thought about it because as some of the guys said, you are not stable in this area of living. Its also a gamble because you don't know when you will have a technical problem like loss of electricity or loss of internet connection. But if you are really very good on online jobs then go for it and I wish you the best luck!
