Howdy. I've been developing apps with Essbase for years, but never bothered with any certifications until now.

If this forum is active, it might be useful as a place for discussing certification requirements, questions, etc.

I'm familiar with most of the questions that nravishankar r posted last year, but not all of them. It might be worthwhile stepping through that list and discussing best answers and possible related questions. For example:

Question #1: The difference between ASO and BSO - ASO stands for "Aggregate Storage Option" and became part of Essbase with version 7.x . BSO stands for "Block Storage Option" and has been the traditional way that Essbase stores data.

ASO cubes can comfortably have significantly more dimensions and members than BSO cubes, but are limited in the ways that the data can be calculated. For example, ASO cubes are typically single-currency. (multi-currency is possible in ASO, but it's very awkward).

Question #16 A block is essentially a collection of all the stored members of all dense dimensions in an outline. To calculate block size, multiply each dense dimension's stored member counts, and then multiply that end result by 8. That's for non-compressed BSO cubes.
