i'am new to datwarehousing.
i'am not clear with dimesional modelling schema.
star and snow flake schema.
can someone tell me in detail in ur own words.

E-R data modelling is used for OLTP system.
dimesional modelling is used for modelling of data for datawarehouse.
can anybody explain me why is this so.
what is the difference between E-R modelling and dimesional modelling.

I really want to learn the datawarehousing concepts and tools, i want to be in command of the concepts and tools....i hav an ok knowledge of database and i would like to ask u for help and please guide me on how should i proceed , I would like u guys to please provide me with the complete procedure on how to go about it.... what all i have to study , what courses can i take and certifications (which obviously cms later) ,the tools for dataware housing which is mostly used by the s/w companies. Everythng in points.. i ll be really gr8ful...:sowwy
