OPT extention from the date of expiry till oct 1
I saw a guy asking a question in IBDB, the message is as follows:
\"the opt will automatically get extended from the date of expiry till oct 1 (i heard this was recently done by uscis) instead of 2 months gap if a company files h1 for the next quota..any guys know if this is true..\" Please clarify???? I need it urgently. I am not asking about the stay in USA in that gap period. I know I can stay in USA once I file H1 for next year quota, till the process gets finalized. I MA ASKING ABOUT WORKING STATUS . OPT extention , what I mean is can we work as usual with out break, in that period ,if OPT extension is possible. |

Re:OPT extention from the date of expiry till oct 1
Still my interview process are going on... for final decision and by the time company\'s start filing H1, it might take one more month OR more thah that.
So I fear that I might not get chance to go for H1 in this year\'s quota. So I will be filing H1 for next year. My OPT ends in mid JULY 2005. That\'s the reason I am intersted in that post and need to confirm the news. Some companies aa 2-3 months work ki gap vastundhi kabatti, ippudu OPT meedha teesukovadaniki kuda reluctabt ga unnaru. VASU please help. |
