Re: H1b processing
Hi
This is Sridhar. I have applied for H1b through the normal processing. I think it takes about 6 months for a decision to be taken for normal processing. Can any one please tell me if i can change my normal processing to premium processing now. My application reached USCIS on 1st of Oct. Can I change to premium processing now, so that I can the visa early. Thank You, Sridhar. |

Re: H1b processing
You need to give more background details about your situation. For e.g. Are you making use of the H1B hike for Masters/Doctoral applicants? Or is your consulting firm telling you that they can still apply for you under that quota even though you don\'t have a Masters/Doctoral degree?
In any case, the legal timeframe as announced by USCIS is that it takes 6 months for regular processing and 15 days to adjudicate a H1B application if you do premium processing. Note the difference between adjudication and processing. Adjudication implies that only a decision will be take within the 15 days. Your I-797 (Approval Certificate), will be available only after 30 - 45 days! In any case, you can start work after the 15th day if you receive a positive response from USCIS! ------------- Disclaimer: I am not a lawyer and in no way I am associated with Exforsys.com.
