Interview Questions not related to computer

I have a sister who is applying for a job as an assistant manager in a company. Aside from the frequently ask questions such as:

1. Tell me about yourself?

2. How well do you know the company?

3. Where have you learned about the jobs we are hiring?

4. Did somebody recommend you for the job?

5. Do you know anybody from the company?

6. Are you willing to go on training or do an overtime just to finish the job?

7. What are your previous employment experience and why do you leave your recent job?

What are other questions the company personel usually ask? Can you tell me so I could tell her?

Thanks

I was always asked the question a lot when I went for an interview. What do you think you can contribute to this company? It was always easier to think about this before hand so you are not put on the spot

I think tay made the most important question on interviews. The questions mentioned at the top are questions that can be replied easily with a yes or no. But the question of tay which is "what will you contribute to the company?" is for me the hardest question to answer. If you satisfy the person interviewing you by answering this 1 question, you will have a guarantee that you get the job.

So better make the best of your answer and try not to be nervous so that you won't forget the answers that you will say.

sometimes companies also ask, "what makes you unique?" or "what characteristics make you stand out?" a variant of tay's question would be, "why should we hire you?"

I guess questions in an interview are not ask to make you nervous or being ridiculed by your answers. It is there to test you on how you can do the job you are applying. Sometimes, HR professionals are not looking for the right answer but how you handled those questions.

Sometimes, if the job position entails selling, there will be lots of questions of these types. You must sell yourself first and in doing so, capitalize on your strengths and forget about your weaknesses. Think of how your skills can be applied to serve their company. What attitude do you have that would benefit them most? In selling, you have to put your best foot forward. Your self-esteem is very important and they will find you commendable if you can show them that.

I've conducted many interviews with my company and we like to see how quickly a person can think on their feet. In addition we like to ask questions for which they are unlikely to have prepared, so that we can get a feel for the mechanics of how they think, how quickly the can adapt and so that we can get more honest answers to things we want to know, rather than prepared and staged answers.

Here's some examples:

* Describe a situation where you employed teamwork to achieve a positive result

* Give us two of your character flaws or things you consider a weakness relating to your work life.

* What event in your professional life are you most proud of?

* We can see you've worked for some major firms, which one did you least like working for, and why?

* Describe a time when you employed leadership skills to achieve a positive result.

and so on...of course the questions will be adapted to the positive and candidate and only a few would be used in each interview.
