Getting an interview - resume content

Here are some guidelines for your content:

1. Be concise – state what you need to, pack a punch, don't pad
2. Proofread again and again
3. Have someone else look it over and check for problems or errors
4. Eliminate slang, jargon, acronyms and personal information
5. Ring your references & make sure your information is current (ie right phone number).
6. If you are light on content go through previous jobs in more detail, think of any tasks or responsibilities you can include and then tell them in a positive light.

Here's an example for working in fast food store.
* Involved in re-ordering processes and maintaining stock levels (you unpacked the truck)
* Provided high level of customer service (you served food)
* Implemented social club and activities to boost moral (ie you hung out with some of your co-employees as friends).
* Took pride in presentation of premises and suggested improved processes (you cleaned the floors).

It's all about how you present yourself and your history. Always try and find the positives and you'll be suprised by the results!
