What is difference between authentication and confidentiality in programming technology? Kindly brief me on this if possible with an example.

Authentication is the verifying mechanism by which message sent by the person is verified. Confidentiality is the manner by which message is passed between sender and receiver with the additional constraint of third person not able to read the same.
