USB Drive Mounting

When plugging two different USB drives they both mount just fine. The files can be viewed. However, it doesn't create a new folder or write to the drives. The permission attributes of the drives was set to "write access" and not "read only". Its still of no avail. What should be done in order to write in these drives?
