Connecting together a Windows and a Linux machine

Hello guys, I need to build a LAN between win and linux machines. I heard that samba is the right tool for me. Anyone got more info about this??

Hi marcus, you are right samba is what you are looking for. Samba interacts with Windows through the so called Common Internet File System (CIFS), so you will be able to share your printers, authenticate, use network services and much more. Take a look at google to find the source file.

SWAT is the Samba Web Administration Tool. You can use it to configure your smb.conf file. Less manual hassle for you! :-P
