Oracle Apps vs People Soft Technical

Hi,
I have no idea about these two fields. Can anyone give brief idea about these fields. Which one is better if i have some sql, pl/sql and some programming knowledge. Is there anyway i can learn them online before joining some consultancy? Do i need any special software for oracle applications or oracle 8i is enough? What is the software for People soft technical?

Are there many tools available for people soft also like datawarehouse?

Thanks in advance

Naresh

Naresh,

For the MS students, who were looking for a job in ERP area, it is better to learn Oracle applications or People Soft.

For both of these,
If you basic knowledge of SQL, PL/SQL it is good.
Even you dont have also, no problem, trainer will cover these in the first week itself.

When coming to software and material, you can find in our site for Oracle.

Peoplesoft software is difficult to install. So you dont worry regarding software, etc..

Just revise the SQL and PL/SQL before joining consultancy. That will be fine.

In Peoplesoft, 2 modules are there:
-HRMS
-Financial

If you chose Peoplesoft, it is better to go for Financial module.
Becoz so many job oppurtunities in Financial when compare to HRMS.

If you are good in programming, go for Oracle applications.
If you are not comfortable in programming, go for Peoplesoft.

Hope you got answers for ur questions.

Hi,

I can give you an idea about oracle applications. You need oracle applications Enterprise business suite to be installed to work with oracle applications. Its a big software which includes oracle application server and database server beside other things. Its not available freely.

Please let me know if there are any other doubts regarding oracle applications.

Thanks and Regards,
Sharad
