hi,
i installed oracle 8i enterprise edition on windows xp system.
but if i give scott,tiger or system,manager as login and password
i am getting the error TNSrotocol adapter error.
for that what to do

Hi,

To resolve this error, please execute below command first from C:\\Oracle\\Ora81\\bin> folder

ordim -startup -sid

*sid for me is oracle1 which I created when oracle application is installed for the first time in my system of Windows 2000 professional sp 4free.

You can also start the oracle service from the service management console. In my case it is OracleServiceORACLE1.
