I've got a few project suggestions that I've make by going through my old projects that I made for fun a while ago. Maybe it'll be of some use to you. I'll try to put them in order of level of difficulty (easiest to hardest):

Fraction Calculator: Create a program that will ask the user for two fractions and will also ask the user whether they'd like to add, subtract, multiply, or divide. Then calculate and output the answer.

Palindrome Tester: A Palindrome a word or sentence that is spelled the same way backwards and forward. Write a program that will ask the user to input a word or sentence and then check to see if it is a palindrome. The program should let the user know if it is a palindrome or not.

Diamond Letter Maker: A program that asks the user for a word or phrase and then proceeds to make a diamond shape from the letters. Example:
Input: red
Output:----r
-----------rer
----------reder
-----------rer
------------r (don't mind the '-' I just put it there so that you could understand the diamond shape)

Animated Picture: Using buttons, create four different graphics and switch between them when the user clicks on a button.

I was thinking of creating an encoding and decoding project. Something people could use for fun to encrypt a message and then decrypt it. Probably also embed the actual encoding key within the message so it's all self contained.

Yes, I actually made a project like that which works beautifully in C++ back in the day.
