I'm actually wondering the exact same thing! I've been working with PC's now for about 6 years and I've never heard of this term!

Siebel

Hi,

Siebel is a CRM "Customer relationship management" system/ application.
Company use Siebel for different purpose from Ecomm, Sales, Billing and Service request.

Here is a practical exp, If you buy a PC lets say from IBM, they will take
-your address
-biling contact
- type of machine or service bought
All this info will centralised in Siebel Sales and from one centralised point they can generate the Order (PC or service) to be dispatch.
We can go n and on about how a business can benefit from Siebel actualy if you know a bit about peoplesoft then we can say in general terms that is the same approach.

Hope this help

Karma

Companies that wish to compete in the global market must learn how to effectively communicate with their customers across multiple channels. The biggest challenge that most companies will face is making it simple for their customers to do business with them through any channel they wish. In addition to this, the company must be able to communicate with clients in their language or currency. At the same time, the companies that do this must ensure that all of their customers are working with a company that is unified. One program that can allow you to do this is the Siebel Customer Relationship Management system. It is designed to fit an organization of any size, and it can give companies the power to give their customers a higher level of customer service.
