Question Problem in compiling the application

I am using Siebel 7.8. (Siebel Consumer Sector)
I Created a new screen , compiled it.. the compilation was fine
.....added the new screen to the page Tab and Screen menu item of the Application - Siebel Consumer Sector.
Then tried to compile the object Application - Siebel Consumer Sector.
It gave me an error that "The user id or password you entered is incorrect. pls check the spelling and try again" and failed to open the webclient

Now i replaced the existing srf with a old srf..
tried to compile an applet..It went fine
tried to compile an View..It went fine
tried to compile an Screen..It went fine
tried to compile The application..Got the same error back..and was not able to open the webclient with the given userid & password.

can any one help me to trace this strange behaviour..
thanks in advance.
