Looking for a utility that will delete middle directories

I've got a bunch of data stuck in this really archaic directory
structure and I want to shorten the directory structure so it's not
such a pain to get to the data. Is there an app out there that will
do this for me? I also want to delete the directories because they
have user specific information in the names, which makes it difficult
to address the directories and data from an administrative point.
Here's an example:
G:\DEC98\Clients\Archives\MRAY\EMAIL\ARCHIVE

I want to shorten it to be g:\dec98\clients\archives with thedirectory
under the old archive directory sitting in the archives folder.

Am I making this more complicated than it is? I know I can drag and
drop, but I'd love to be able to do 50-100 of these directories at a
time. Keep in mind that every directory structure is unique at the
MRAY level.

Thanks in advance.

Matt

Re: Looking for a utility that will delete middle directories

Found a way to do this at DOS: Here it is:

for /d %i in (g:\dec98\clients\*) do xcopy %i\email\archive\*
g:\dec98\archives /s /y

Type this at DOS and away it goes.
