System testing
I wont mention company names, but I worked for a particular company for awhile, and cost to production, and timeframes often meant that testing took a back-seat. It's amasing how such an important step that will almost certainly save you time and money down the track, is so often reduced, undermined or not carried out to any real extent. Not to mention sullied reputations and taking pride in ones work.
There were even projects were testing was intentionally reduced to ensure future work such as ongoing maintenance contracts. Sad. |

In general if testing process is reduced or not carried out properly ongoing maintenance cannot be achieved by the company in long run. It is definitely not a process good for long run of the company. This is because number of bugs reported during maintenance would speak the quality of work done and if the client feels lot of bugs opened which speaks about poor testing and thereby dissatisfied clients.
