Don't be get confused

an application that is web based

example :rediff.com,yahoo.coom.google.com,naukri.com,zapak.com

these are all web sites right

when they are in developing state we call them as web application only

got my point ?


suppose in your college you are developing a portal like bharathmatrimony.c

so that is a web based application right

means web application

Hi,

As simmy said, the web application is the pre production state of a software such as exforsys . com, google . com etc. To be layman "It is the state in which the website will be under construction" . It differs from the client/server application by the fact that the users accessing the application will be limited (Say: Library management, Organisation office automation). Hope u will b clear.

Do scrap here to clarify if doubts any.

Web application are based on 3 tier architechture,in which bussiness logic is present on server side.
Plz correct me if i m wrong
