User Acceptance Testing is done by the Users they test the product before taking the delivery . Just imagine that you are a customers and you want a company to make a software for you when the software is ready you are going to test the software if everything is according to your requirement or not That is User acceptance testing.

Simply, Testing the application by entering positive values and not with negative values.

Thumbs up Reply to Use Acceptance Testing

Hi Kiruthika,
There are many steps of testing that you must be already be aware of.
User Acceptance Testing is one of the last phases of testing which is done at the Client's end. This is to determine weather all the requirements are met. As a coder or a tester we do not usually do this testing what we do Unit(done by the coder), System and Integration Testing as part of various stages of SLDC.

The Answer is in Question only

the user will test the developed application wether it is acceptable or not

Hi krithika

The term User Acceptance Testing commonly referred as "UAT" is the testing usually done by the customer/client or an end user mainly to confirm the criteria for accepting the software is met and is as per the specifications. this criteria is usually called user acceptance criteria. this type of testing is done with the user acceptance test cases which is derived from the use cases.

Ex: Hospital management s/w has a module which is mainly to generate the electronic medical record and medication details to be followed. A black box tester test the module w.r.t to positive and negative cases say a field by field validation, form by form and then page by page and finally the entire module. But the user acceptance testing mainly concentrates in our example module will have a criteria that this will be acceptable if s/w when given valid inputs will generate the electronic medical record and medication etc. so if its done, the end user from client end will be satisfied and therefor the criteria is met. hope i explained wat u expects.

User Acceptance Testing is often the final step before rolling out the application. Usually the end users who will be using the applications test the application before ‘accepting’ the application.

This type of testing gives the end users the confidence that the application being delivered to them meets their requirements. This testing also helps nail bugs related to usability of the application.

Hi Kiruthika..

Mostlee UAT will be done by Actual Business Users. bcoz they are going to use the application. they know the exact output. to test the application they will prepare thair own test casses.
some times UAT also will be done by tirsd party Testers, Client will hire the testers for UAT phase they will give all the documents to the tsters (brd, fs...) they will prepare UAT casses, once client approval is over they will test the application, in this phase mostlee they will use realtime data.
