The Importance of Positive Thinking

By Exforsys | on June 30, 2015 |
Positive Thinking

Positive minds are powerful minds. We can do and achieve almost anything with a mind that has the willingness and determination to do it. Although not everyone gets to realize this fact of life, it is probably a good try to allow paradigm shift in our method of thinking. You may not have realized it, but the misfortunes and tragedies in life that you are experiencing may be brought about by your own actions and thinking.

We tend to blame others for our own failures and adversities. We think that they contributed to our downfalls. Next time anything goes wrong or any trouble happens to you, consider making a personal assessment and scrutiny of the situation. In some cases, it is our mind that controls what we do and how we react to people and circumstances.

An individual with a positive mind can do a lot of positive things. So, what do we get when we choose to think positively rather than being pessimistic? Needless to say, optimism brings many advantages to a person in the various aspects of life – health, relationships, career, happiness and personal goals. Every single thought and every single decision we make, creates an impact and influence in our lives.

Positive Impact on Health

One good reason to practice positive thinking is that it has a great impact on our mental, emotional and physical health. Yes, optimism is as good as any therapeutic treatments or remedies for our health conditions.

Positive thinking is very beneficial for our mental health primarily because it eliminates any form of paranoia and negative thoughts that can cause depression and stress. The process is actually a domino effect in terms of our overall health. Those who think positively feel happier and more contented with their lives.

With less stress, we go through our daily activities smoothly and feel more relaxed. Also, studies show that it is a good cure for any cardiovascular illness compared to people who consume negative thoughts all the time. Positive thoughts distress the mind, it prevents stress hormones from being released, thus, damaging mental health. In general, positive thinkers live a longer lifespan, are less prone to sickness, experience less stress, and are generally more blissful.

A Better Career

Work is a major contributing factor to stress in an individual. In the workplace, we encounter many challenges and issues from our workloads, fellow work colleagues, and even with our own performance. Employees who have negative mental attitude toward work and career are less likely to succeed or achieve their goals.

Office workers who think that their job is a burden will experience slowness in their career growth. A transition in thinking and attitude at work toward a more positive and constructive approach will change your performance as a working individual. Taking challenges positively in the workplace can bring you outstanding results, develop good relationships with colleagues, and even take you notches up the corporate ladder.

If you see things in a positive approach, your boss will notice your hard work and approach towards your job. Even the people around you will admire and appreciate the way you perceive things in the office. Positive thinking brings about a better perspective toward work and a better career for you.

Building and Developing Relationships

A big impact of positive thinking is on relationships with people. Positive thinkers radiate a kind of aura that just attracts others toward them. They are simply nice companions to be with. When you are around the presence of optimists, you become inspired to do things because they motivate you with their stories and viewpoints. This is because positive thinking is very contagious.

Happy and affirmative thoughts are bound to make you smile, exuding it to those you talk to and encounter every day. In effect, they respond in a manner that is also positive. So, in a way, you are helping out those who are feeling down and weary, or even those who feel there is no hope for them. You would not want to be talking to someone who chatters of nothing but misfortunes and negative thoughts, would you? Keep things positive and see the wonders it can do to your life.
