Stay Focused on Your Goals

Anxiety Management

Do you sometimes take time alone and picture yourself in a place you have always wanted to visit? Or maybe picture yourself as someone whom you really admire? Or maybe imagine that you are filthy rich and you can buy all the luxuries you want? We call this form of imagination a process called visualization.

When you visualize, you perceive things in your mind that they almost seem to be real. You allow the imagination to explore and wander. It is a powerful state of mental creativity. They say that what you think you are is what you really are. With constant visualization practice, the mind will gradually shift to a more focused approach of achieving goals and dreams and your life will be transformed into a healthier and more abundant state.

Visualization Relaxes the Mind

This mind skill is a way to relax the mind and create a sense of calmness in a person’s mental state of being. The best time to practice visualization is in the morning because the mind is still fresh from a good rest and in a relaxed condition. In the morning, you are able to concentrate well without any form of distraction to disturb your train of thoughts. Some people also visualize during moments of stress or anxiety.Say, in the office, when your day is a burden of workload to accomplish, steal a few minutes of your precious time to rest the mind and visualize happy thoughts. You may not realize it but as you picture yourself out in that blissful imagination, you are already smiling. Slowly, negative vibes will start to fade away. Then, the mind starts to relax again. If you have not tried or you rarely try this form of mental activity, try doing it again and make it a good practice during stressful moments.

One caution when visualizing though, is not to imagine of negative circumstances or moments that cause frustration and failures. When the mind starts building up these negativities, try to redirect it back to a pleasurable state of thinking. These negative vibes distort the smooth flow of thinking and only add up to more stress.

Creative Visualization

Visualization is a powerful technique to achieve whatever it is that you want to accomplish in life. This strategy has proven to be effective for those who practiced it by heart. Some successful people envision their dreams so deeply and intensely that they could feel it in their own bodies. Our minds are so powerful we can let anything happen by just visualizing it. We can all be creative with our imagination.Do not hesitate or do not limit the mind to travel as far as it could and to think as wildly as it could. Kids are a perfect example of those who have strong creative visualization. Observe little children when they play with their toys. They picture themselves in a certain place and they make it seem like it is so real that they even act it out.

Visualize and Materialize

Just like the kids, learn to practice creative visualization. If you plan to become a successful businessman someday, imagine yourself in a business suit talking to big bosses from large companies. If you dream of becoming a singing sensation, picture yourself out in a glamorous stage with a huge crowd cheering on you. But here is something you should know: visualize and then materialize it. This means that you do not just end at fulfilling your dreams in your mind. You have to take action so you will see the results for real. You have to make it happen in your life just like how the little children do when they play. You can ask any successful entrepreneur and they will tell you how they envisioned themselves and their dreams before they attained such wealth and success.

One way of helping you believe that your envisioned dreams will come true is through the use of affirmation statements. You verbalize who you want to be and what you want to achieve. Declare your heart’s desires in the present tense and use the first person “I”. You have to see yourself in that situation. But never forget to manifest it and do something about it so that your success will not merely remain in your imagination.
